I know this area quite well from the past and I was keen to walk the section from Millersdale to Matlock. I can't think why I didn't start from Castleton now, perhaps time was against me getting somewhere convenient to stay at night. Anyway, I travelled by train from York to Sheffield and connected with the Sheffield train to Hope. I then caught a Hulley's 173 bus to Litton but missed the connecting bus from Litton to Millersdale, hence the walk began from Litton.

Campsites
Before I decided to b&b I was aware of campsites along the route at Blackwell, near Miller's Dale, Monyash, Lathkilldale, Birchover & Matlock.
General Information
During preparation for the walk I found the TIC Matlock very helpful together with the website at http://www.visitpeakdistrict.com/
I thoroughly enjoyed the walk although I have no plans to walk the Matlock to Rocester section. I will however be completing the section between Castleton and Miller's Dale hopefully within the next twelve months.
From Matlock I caught the train back to York changing at Derby.
fantastic very informative thanks for sharing im planning on doing the limestone way this march 2017 its lack of campsites or wild camping that is worrying me
